Administrative / Biographical History
The great grandfather of the donor moved to Oare Farm in 1860 from Tadley, co. Berks. After the death of his father in 1928, his mother farmed until 1936, when the donor entered the partnership. Farm size circa 380 acres; sand soil; tenant farmers to Sir William Mount until 1918, owner-occupiers thereafter.
