Scope and Content

Selected items from the collections held at Lambeth Palace Library.

Archbishop's Papers : Images from the official correspondence and papers of the Archbishop of Canterbury.
Archbishop's Records : Images from the records of the Archbishop's administration from 1279 onwards.
Archives of Bishops, Churchmen and Societies : Images of items from collections generated by bishops, other prominent churchmen, or Anglican societies.
Church Information Office : Images of records created and accumulated as a result of activities of the Church Information Office, which provided information services and a picture library to the central bodies of the Church of England like the Church Commissioners and the General Synod.
Incorporated Church Building Society : Plans and other images relating to applications and grants for the building and restoration of churches throughout England and Wales from 1818-1982.
Lambeth Palace Librarians : Paintings of previous Librarians of Lambeth Palace Library.
Manuscripts : Images from the broad range of manuscript material accumulated by Archbishops of Canterbury and the Library, created by a diverse range of individuals and organisations, both within and outside the Church of England, covering not only ecclesiastical history but other subjects, ranging through architectural, colonial, political and social history.
Printed Books : Images from the Library's collection of over 120,000 books, 40,000 pamphlets and 100 current periodicals relating mainly to the history of the Church of England.
Prints : Images from the Library's collection of prints.
Roger Payton Prints : Views of Lambeth Palace and the surrounding area.
Sion College Manuscripts & Printed Books : Images from the Library's collection of manuscripts, pre-1850 printed books and pamphlets of Sion College Library which were transferred to Lambeth Palace Library in 1996.
