Administrative / Biographical History

Edward Tennyson Reed (1860-1933) studied at Harrow and by the 1880s began to work as a professional draftsman. He later became a portrait painter, cartoonist and illustrator. His 'Prehistoric Peeps' series first began to appear in the Punch Almanack in 1893 and from 1894 to 1912 he illustrated the magazine's 'Essence of Parliament' feature.
