Administrative / Biographical History
The Paper Stainers' Union of General Workers was established in 1890 in Darwen. In 1919 its merger with the Amalgamated Society of Machine Paper Stainers and Colour Mixers of Great Britain formed the Wallpaper Workers' Union.

Custodial History
The Paper Stainers' Union of General Workers' records form part of the National Union of Wallcoverings, Decorative and Allied Trades archive. This was collected by Richard Storey on the 20th May 1980 and deposited on indefinite loan in the Centre.
