Scope and Content

In consideration of #60, John Sharpe, butler, and Richard King, cook, both of Cambridge (devisees mentioned in the will of King's father the late David King of Cambridge, yeoman) convey to William Anderson of Cambridge, merchant, a tenement in Newnham, formerly Thomas Wendy's and more recently Chester Pern's. Endorsed on the release is a memorandum that one moiety of the above property is legally vested in the Revd Richard William Gleadowe and the Revd John Osborne Seager as trustees under the marriage settlement for the Revd Thomas Littlewood Gleadowe and Harriet Anderson, daughter and co-heiress of William Anderson esq, deceased (and ?great-great-granddaughter of the above William Anderson). The other moiety lies with the Revd Walter John Young Casborne, trustee under the marriage settlement for Capel Lofft esq and Mary Anderson, the other daughter and co-heiress, and Mary has appointed her share, subject to her life interest, to Seager and R W Gleadowe. Lease (for one year at peppercorn rent) and release both signed and sealed by Sharpe and King, witnessed by Thomas Lombe and Lombe's servant William Rayment, duty stamps. Release endorsed with receipt for consideration money, same signatures and date. Endorsed Memorandum: 29 Apr 1843, signed by ?Ja Moore, solicitor and agent for T L and Mary Gleadowe.
