All 3 volumes are bound in brown leather, which is damaged with the spines to the first two volumes missing, and gilt lettering embossed on that of volume 3 as follows: BISCHOFF'S MEMOIRS OF WOOL VOL. Administrative / Biographical History
James Bischoff (1775-1845), author of works on the wool trade, was connected with the woollen trade in Leeds, but subsequently carried on business as a merchant and insurance broker in London. He published works aiming at reform in laws relating to wool. See the Dictionary of National Biography.
