This private bank’s origins can be traced back to a corn merchant business formed in 1754 in Boston. Branches were opened at Louth (1754), Horncastle (1819), Spalding (1822), Spilsby (1859), Skegness (1881), Alford (1887), Wanfleet (1889) and Lincoln (1890). Capital & Counties Bank (est. 1877) acquired the business in 1891.
