Letter from Catharine Davies in Edge Hill, Liverpool to her parents, Hugh Davies and his wife of Erw Gron, Llanfairfechan, Gwynedd. She has come across some other people of Welsh origin and complains that she does not have the opportunity to go to chapel often.

Catharine Davies of Erw Gron, Llanfairfechan, Gwynedd was in service at Edge Hill, Liverpool in 1844.

Many Welsh men and women from north Wales settled in Liverpool during the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, attracted mainly by the opportunity of employment and trade.
