Scope and Content

"1895. Tour on my Safety From Bath to Weymouth Via Southampton Portsmouth & Bournemouth" - diary of Walter Palmer. Photocopy and transcript of the original, and copies of two photographs, one taken in 1893 and the other some two years after the cycle ride showing him with his wife soon after their marriage.

Administrative / Biographical History

Walter Palmer's father was a brush manufacturer and owned a shop in the centre of Bath for many years; Walter Palmer finally retired and sold the business in 1934.
