Administrative / Biographical History

A. G. Boorman was born in 1905 and educated at the Royal Grammar School in High Wycombe, City and Guilds College, and the University of London.

His career as an engineer in the Public Works Department in Nigeria began in 1929 when he was appointed to the post of Assistant Engineer. He later held the posts of Exec[utive] Engineer (1938), Senior Engineer (1947), and Chief Engineer (1951).
