Diary and Literary Log-Book of Leonard Clarke of Birmingham

Scope and Content

This volume contains entries for each day in the style of a diary, but the content of each entry consists of a mixture of poetry, copies of letters, and short essays on a range of subjects, all written by Leonard Clarke. The hand-drawn title page containing the following information: "Diary and Literary Log-Book of Leonard W. Clarke, F.S.A.S.", and elsewhere in the volume his address is given as 104 Great Charles Street, Birmingham. The entries he makes in his log-book suggest that science, literature and religion were among his main interests.
