Scope and Content

Plans, drawings and photographs from various architectural journals, including The Building News, The Builder, The Builders' Journal and Architectural Record, and The Architect, 1870s-1920s.

Arrangement

The archive has been arranged alphabetically by place name. Within each letter places in Great Britain are listed first, followed by the rest of the world. An indication of country or geographical area has been given, but no attempt has been made to trace changes in political boundaries and designations during or since the period of journals' publication.

Access Information

Records are open to the public, subject to the overriding provisions of relevant legislation, including data protection laws.

Acquisition Information

The archive was gifted to the Borthwick Institute in 2005.
