Administrative / Biographical History

Sir Ifor Williams, 1881-1965, was a Professor of Welsh at the University College of North Wales from 1922 until his retirement in 1947. He was also a graduate of the same College, gaining a degree in Greek and Welsh and an M.A. for a thesis on the Gododdin of Aneirin. He received many honours including a knighthood in 1947.
