Scope and Content

Typescript diary of Patty Clough, ranging in date from 1786 to 1836. Describes rounds of social visits, refers to reading and music societies, and supplies many details of births, marriages and deaths.

Administrative / Biographical History

Patty Clough of Plas Clough was the great-great-grandmother of Mr Clough Williams-Ellis, the distinguished architect of Brondanw and London and leading personality in the movement for the preservation of rural Wales.

She was married to Richard Clough, squire of Glan-y-wern and Plas Clough. She died on 3 July 1838.
