Administrative / Biographical History

The Battle of Cornelis was fought in Java in 1811. The battle was between the 59th Regiment (2nd Nottinghamshire Regiment, later the Queen's Lancashire Regiment) of the British Army against Dutch and local Princes. The same campaign saw the capture of Sumatra, Bali and Celebes.
