Petition from the Chancellor, Masters and Scholars of Cambridge University to the House of Commons in session, 1877, against the proposed extension of the Great Northern Railway from Shepreth to March. The line as proposed would pass too close to the Observatory, being between the town and the Observatory and the petitioners anticipate that the work of the Observatory and the accuracy of their investigations would be seriously disturbed. Seal of the University attached.
