A bi-lateral cipher translation and transcription, prepared by Henry Seymour in 1921, from Bacon's The Historie of the raigne of King Henry the Seventh , 1622, using Bacon's own cipher, as given in the De Augmentis scientarum .

Copies may be made, subject to the condition of the original. Copying must be undertaken by the Palaeography Room staff, who will need a minimum of 24 hours to process requests.

Custodial History

Presented to the University Library in 1950 by Mr. Valentine Smith of The Bacon Society, who had bought it when Henry Seymour died. Kept in the Durning-Lawrence Library with a copy of Bacon's Henry the Seventh used by Seymour in making the transcription, also presented by Mr. Smith.
