Thomas Richards, former librarian at the University of Wales, Bangor, who catalogued the material originally, states in the catalogue that the notebook was at one time in the possession of John Blackwell of Plas Hendre, Llanrwst, Gwynedd, and that the cleric John Boulger of Pennant Erethlyn, Denbighshire may also have been connected with it.
