Scope and Content

Transcripts of the work of 14th and 15th century Welsh poets made by Thomas Roberts, in preparation for Cywyddau Iolo Goch ac eraill. Includes the work of the following poets - Rhys Goch Eryri, Llywelyn ap Moel y Pantri, Rhys Nanmor, Gruffydd Llwyd, Howel Cilan, Rhys ap Dafydd ab Iorwerth and Sion Cent.

Administrative / Biographical History

Thomas Roberts M.A. of Porthmadog, Caernarfonshire is the co-editor of several published anthologies of early Welsh poetry, including Cywyddau Dafydd ap Gwilym a'i gyfoeswyr (1914), The poetical works of Dafydd Nanmor (1923) and Cywyddau Iolo Goch ac eraill (1925). He appears to have worked closely with Sir Ifor Williams, the renowned Welsh scholar, on several occasions.

Arrangement

Incorporated into the General Collection of Bangor Manuscripts and arranged according to poet.
