Papers of Frederick Nigel Molire Pusinelli

Papers relating to a review of salaries of staff in the service of the Government of the British Virgin Islands, undertaken by Pusinelli, and including administrative and technical staff, police, medical staff and teachers.

Frederick Nigel Molire Pusinelli was born on the 28 April 1919 and educated at Aldenham School and Pembroke College, Cambridge (BA Hons in Law). He was commissioned into the Royal Artillery in 1939 and served in the British Expeditionary Force (1940) and in India and Burma (1942-1945), during which time he was promoted to the rank of Major (1942).

In 1945 Pusinelli entered the Staff College in Quetta, Pakistan and in 1946 went to work as an Administrative Officer on Gilbert and Ellice Islands. In 1958 he was transferred to Aden where he worked as: Deputy Financial Secretary and (frequently) Acting Financial Secretary (1958-1962); Director of Establishments (1962-1968), and Assistant High Commissioner of Aden and Federation of South Arabia (1963-1968). From 1968-1970 he was Salaries Commissioner for various territories in the West Indies. Pusinelli was awarded the Military Cross (1940), OBE (1963) and CMG (1966).
