Papers and correspondence of Henry Thomas Flint, 1890-1971

The papers include 26 school and university notebooks, 1904-1915, notes and drafts for his own lectures, 1919-1955, manuscripts and drafts for publications, material relating to Flint's work as assessor for the University Grants Committee, and his work as external examiner for various overseas universities.

Flint was educated at Wyggeston School, Leicester and the Universities of Birmingham (M.Sc. 1912) and London. He served in the Royal Garrison Artillery during the First World War. He was Lecturer and Reader in Physics, King's College, London, 1920-1944, and Professor of Physics, Bedford College, London, 1944-1956.

Received for cataloguing in 1974 by Contemporary Scientific Archives Centre from Mrs Ruth Flint, widow. Deposited in University of London Library in 1975.
