Administrative / Biographical History
Dane Hartwell has held various positions within the National Union of Mineworkers. From 1959-1963 he was Youth Representative of Rhigos Lodge and from 1968-1972 was Craftsmen's Representative of Tower Lodge. In 1975 he was elected Treasurer of Blaengwrach Lodge, a position he held until 1977 when he became the lodge's Secretary and Compensation Secretary. In 1982 he was made a member of the Area Executive Council.
