Scope and Content

Declaring that John Marriott Varnam of Chatteris, farmer, eldest son and heir of Margaret Varnam, nee Marriott, has surrendered by the hands of Freeman Cawthorne and John Orton the four acres of pasture and all other properties in Croload, which he held of the manor of Chatteris Ramsey, to the use of Robert Grimditch of Chatteris, gent, and his heirs. Copy, copied signatures of John Varnam, Freeman Cawthorn and John Orton, endorsed with a note of admission fines and fees, dated 26 May 1777.
