Scope and Content

The papers of Mary Thrse De Lautour include poetry, essays (especially on travel and religion), diaries, correspondence and notes; papers for a book on Israel and for two published works, From the Holy Land. An album of photographs (Bristol, 1951) and What is there to remember. Poems and impressions (Bristol, 1951). Archives of the Bournemouth Poetry Society: correspondence of Miss De Lautour with literary figures, including Thomas Hardy, Walter De La Mare and Edith Sitwell, inviting them to speak at Society meetings or to judge poetry competitions; newspaper cuttings and programmes, 1921-6.

Administrative / Biographical History

Mary Thrse De Lautour was secretary of the Bournemouth Poetry Society and the collection includes archives of the society.
