Scope and Content

Trinity Parish, Ely, vestry book, 272 pages: (p. 1) list of certificates taken in by the churchwardens and overseers of the poor of the parish, 1698-1798. The list contains the date, the name of the poor person and the name of the parish from which the certificate came; (p. 65) list of certificates granted and apprentices put out by the same, 1707-1800; (p. 137) list of persons examined or ordered to be removed from the parish, and of those appealing against the assessment of rates, etc., 1711-1800; (pp. 171-194) minutes of vestry meetings, written inversely, 1804-1808; (p. 197) list of bonds given to the parish, 1707-1799; (p. 206-232) minutes of vestry meetings, mostly written inversely, 1795-1801; (p. 235) vestry orders with regards to poor relief and the minutes of meetings, 1724-1795.
