Papers of Richard Wood, construction industry training expert

This collection contains records reflecting Richard Wood's involvement in the work of the Construction Industry Training Board, the National Federation of Building Trades Employers and other organisations involved in construction industry training.

Richard Wood was involved in the formulation and application of construction industry training policy in the following roles: chairman of the Construction Industry Training Board building committee from 1974; member of the training committee of the National Federation of Building Trades Employers (NFBTE); president of the NFBTE London region; chairman of the NFBTE/Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) joint committee on technician training; member of the CIOB board of building education; chairman of the national advisory committee for building of the City and Guilds of London Institute.

He was also the managing director of J W Falkner and Sons Limited, craftsmen builders of London. He died on 20 November 2004.
