Scope and Content

Agreement between Thomas Lord Windsor and Reginald Williams of London that five books containing matter relating to the manor of Tendring Hall and other manors and lands in Suffolk should be deposited with Robert Abott of London, scrivener, until a certain date that both parties might view them. Afterwards they are to be delivered to Reginald Williams, but Lord Windsor is to have access to them for the term of one year from the following Michaelmas. Reginald Williams is not to be compelled to carry them more than a certain distance from Stoke-by-Nayland nor to deliver them out of his possession or that of his representative. Witnessed by Francis Christmas and Thomas Parson. Parts of the two seals remain.
