There are three accompanying letters to Albert Ehrman regarding the collection, from Stanley Morison, The Times, 2 April 1952, and from A.E. Musson, Economic History Department, Manchester University, 16 February 1954 and 6 July 1954.

A note by A.E. Musson at the front of the book records that the volume was formerly in the possession of a descendant of the Figgins family. Presented by John Ehrman through the Friends of the National Libraries, 1978.
