Administrative / Biographical History
The pharmaceutical company Burroughs Wellcome and Company was founded in 1880 by Henry Wellcome and Silas Burroughs. In 1889 the company acquired a factory site in Dartford. Main company production remained on this site until the 1980s. The Printing Department at Dartford produced labels, publicity material and packaging for the firm.
