Scope and Content
Administrative / Biographical History
The County Accountants' Society was formed in 1903 as a professional association for the chief financial officers of county councils in England and Wales. It was renamed the Society of County Treasurers, the title by then used by most of its members, in March 1950. It is still in existence under this name.
