Scope and Content

Includes many of Fritz Rosen’s graphic advertising work and logos and trademarks for clients including Bosch, Oldenkott and Henkell, together with a selection of his scrapbook pages with correspondence and commentary on his political posters. There is also some of Rosen’s creative non-commercial work including life drawing and landscapes.

Administrative / Biographical History

Fritz Rosen (1890-1980) was an important figure in German modernist poster design, at one point sharing a studio and working with Lucian Bernhard, the supreme German poster artist and innovator of the style of advertising known as Sachplaket, or Object Poster.
