Administrative / Biographical History

John George Clark Anderson (1870-1952) was an archaeologist specialising in the study of Asia minor. His university appointments, all at the University of Oxford, include: Lecturer in Roman Epigraphy, 1919-27, Reader in Roman Epigraphy, 1927, and Camden Professor of Ancient History, 1927-36. Anderson was also an Honorary Fellow of Lincoln College, 1897-1900, and later a Fellow of Brasenose College, 1927-36. See Who Was Who for details.
