Papers of the Womens' Liberal Federation

The collection consists of documents generated and kept by the Womens' Liberal Federation over the course of a century. These include correspondence, accounts, publications, photographs, constitutional papers, conference papers, committee papers and minute books.

The Womens' Liberal Federation was founded in 1888. It was formed from local Women's Liberal Associations throughout Britain, and performed various activities including fundraising for charities and the Liberal Party. The local associations campaigned on behalf of the Liberal Party in their local areas, and often obtained opinions for the Party on political issues such as Irish Home Rule. The Federation disbanded in 1989.

The archives were placed on indefinite loan by the Women's Liberal Federation in 1988.
