Scope and Content
Administrative / Biographical History
Sally Soames was born in London and has lived there all her life. Her first assignments were for the Observer in 1963 and she then went on to freelance for the Guardian, the New York Times, The Observer and various TV and film companies in the UK and the US. She joined the staff of The Sunday Times in 1968 and remained there until she retired in June 2000. Her books include Manpower (1987) and Writers (1995).
