  • Miscellaneous items collected by T. Witton Davies relating to theology, including sketches, sermon notes and autographs

Administrative / Biographical History

Thomas Witton Davies (1851-1923), Baptist minister and Semitic scholar, was the first occupant of the Chair of Semitics and Professor of Hebrew and Semiotics at the University College of North Wales, Bangor. He published widely on a range of theological subjects and his work in this area greatly helped establish an important Department of Semitics at Bangor University.

Arrangement

Material was received on different occasions, arranged in chronological order and incorporated into the General Collection of Bangor Manuscripts .
