Transcripts of the poetry of Sion Cent by Muriel Price and John Edwards, taken from manuscripts held at the British Museum, Cardiff Free Library and the National Library of Wales. Also included are inset notes on the bard and his poetry.

Administrative / Biographical History

John Edwards and Muriel Price were two individuals who took an interest in the work of Sion Cent, consulting manuscripts and transcribing his poetry. Their transcripts were used by Sir Ifor Williams in his work, Cywyddau Iolo Goch ac eraill, 1925.

John Edwards M.A. of Betws Gwerful Goch, Corwen, Merioneth was a student at the University College of North Wales. Muriel Price of Pwllheli, was educated at the Normal College, Bangor. It was her intention to write an M.A. thesis on the subject of Sion Cent, but this never came to fruition.

Sion Cent, was a 15th century Welsh poet. Consult The Oxford Companion to the Literature of Wales for biographical information.

Arrangement

Incorporated into the General Collection of Bangor Manuscripts. There is no apparent system of arrangement.
