Scope and Content

Note books containing notes of mostly English literature lectures, attended by Rebeccah Jane Jones whilst studying at Aberystwyth University, with the exception of notes on an economic history lecture given by Prof. Richards at the University College of North Wales Bangor and a lecture by Dafydd Elis Thomas on the poem, Mewn Dau Gae by Waldo Williams.

Printed maps, 1863 - 1974, of north Wales mostly, with several street maps of towns, including Bala and Dolgellau in Merioneth, Wrexham and Llangollen in Denbighshire, Porthmadog, Cricieth, Pwllheli and Llandudno in Caernarfonshire. Includes bus route maps of Crosville Motor Services Ltd.

A bundle of letters from William Crwys Williams to Rebeccah Jane Jones containing a manuscript copy of the poem, Y Crwt. Also, an account of the religious revival at Llandrillo-yn-Edeirnion, Merioneth, 1904-1905, by Mrs M. E. Evans and a printed pamphlet on the history of the religious meeting at Bala in 1911.

Administrative / Biographical History

Miss Rebeccah Jane Jones of Colwyn Bay was educated at the University College of Wales Aberystwyth, 1920 - 1923, where she graduated in English. She then became an English mistress at Llangollen County School and later lectured at Cartrefle College, Wrecsam.
