World War II Newspapers

Scope and Content

This collection consists of pre war and wartime newspapers. The papers are in modern folders containing background material and some wartime posters. Titles featured include: the Daily Express, Daily Mail, Daily Mirror, Daily Telegraph, Daily Sketch, Sunday Express, Evening Standard and the News Chronicle.

Administrative / Biographical History

William Williams was a soldier in World War II, after which he joined the Palestinian police force. When he returned home he worked as a bus conductor and was head porter at the University of Wales, Bangor. He died ca. 1997-1998.

Arrangement

Material is arranged in chronological order and incorporated into the General Collection of Bangor Manuscripts .
