Hafodunos Hall in Denbighshire dates from the early 17th century. It was purchased by a Mr S. Sandbach from the Cloughs of Denbigh in 1831 and rebuilt in 1864-1865. Its gardens contain examples of exotic plants such as those collected by Sir J.D. Hooker.

Plas yn Trofarth, near Llangernyw, Denbighshire was the home of the Wynne family who were descended from Marchydd ap Cynan, one of the founders of the 15 tribes of Gwynedd.
