Administrative / Biographical History

John Jones, 1796-1857, was a Calvinistic Methodist Minister. He received no formal education but became one of the greatest preachers in Wales following his ordination in 1829. In the early 1850's he bought, along with others, the Dorothea Quarry in Tal-y-sarn.

His brother, David Jones of Treborth, 1805-1868, was also a Methodist Minister.
