Scope and Content

Note-book consisting of a mixture of notes on Welsh grammar, a catechism and religious observations. Details also of sermons conducted by Methodist preachers at various locations in Anglesey.

Some notes relate to the work of David Davies as an exciseman with details of summonses, condemnation of seizures and search-warrants.

Administrative / Biographical History

David Davies was an exciseman by profession and in his capacity as an officer employed to collect excise duties and prevent infringement of excise laws he travelled extensively. Whilst at Pentraeth, Anglesey he had a religious experience.
