Reginald George Henry Gough was born in Oxford. As a Private, later 2nd Lieutenant, 1st/4th and 2nd/4th Battalion, Oxford and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry, he served on the Western Front from Sep. 1914. He was captured, Mar. 1918, and held as a POW (Prisoner of War) at Holzminden. A teacher of deaf and blind children, he later served with the Royal Observer Corps in the Second World War.
