Bernard William Baxter (1882-1958), born at Sleaford, Lincolnshire, moving to Downe Castle, South Africa, in 1903, was a Private, later Sergeant, South African Medical Corps, 1916-1919, attached to 3rd Mounted Brigade Field Ambulance serving in East Africa.
