Scope and Content

Apparently a translation from a French version of an anonymous work by an Italian member of "one of the Academies of the Arcadi", in imitation of Muralt's Letters upon the French and English. The text concludes "Sir. Yours &c: The Count of *. At ... 20. September 1727". In prose.

Administrative / Biographical History

Possibly the same John Farrington recorded in the British Library catalogue as translator of Origin of the Grandeur of the Court of Rome (1754), by Aubert de Vertot d'Aubeuf.
