A copy of the obituary contributed by his daughter, June Brandon, to the Journal is inserted in the diary for 1988 (21 Dec.). The journal is written mainly in Collins or Letts desk diaries, each page being filled; the volumes for 1944 to 1951, written on blank paper, were bound by Thomas himself.
