Papers of Ann Thwaite, 1975-7, n.d., relating to My Oxford (London: 1977), edited by her, comprising:

  • working papers, 1975-7
  • correspondence with contributors, 1975-6, arranged alphabetically: Amis-Betjeman, Boothby-Mortimer, Nicolson-Wilson
  • essays from contributors, including rejected contributions by Felix Aylmer and Adrian Boult, with a subsequently published manuscript by Angus Wilson and a copy typed by Anthony Thwaite.

Administrative / Biographical History

Ann Thwaite (b 1932), ne Harrop, read English at St. Hilda's College, Oxford, from 1952 to 1955. She has written numerous children's books, and biographies.

My Oxford contains recollections of the undergraduate days of: Martin Amis, Nina Bawden, John Betjeman, Lord Boothby, Alan Coren, Antonia Fraser, Jo Grimond, Raymond Massey, John Mortimer, Nigel Nicolson, J.I.M. Stewart and Angus Wilson.
