Imperial College Archives and Corporate Records Unit

The Archives seeks to develop collections of papers of former members of staff who were major figures in science in the 19th and 20th Centuries, to consistently add records from the Colleges Central services as well as material from the Student's Union and Constituent College Unions.

Papers in Imperial College London Archives are those of some of the most significant names of the nineteenth century scientific world. They include TH Huxley, Lyon Playfair, Henry Edward Armstrong, Sir Andrew Crombie Ramsay and Members of the Geological Survey of Great Britain. Famous students include HG Wells and William Perkin. Notable collections of papers in the twentieth century include those of Sir Dennis Gabor, Herbert Dingle and Baron Jackson of Burnley.

Records of the history of the college date back to its beginnings in 1844 and papers are also held relating to the various Constituent Colleges.
