    • Access Information
      • People wishing to consult the archives must make an appointment by emailing archives@rwcmd.ac.uk.
      • Archival material is available for reference use in the Library only and will be under the supervision of a member of Library staff. Coats and bags must be left in a locker or stored in the Library office. They are not permitted at the desk where archival material is being consulted. No pens, food or drink are permitted near the desk where archival material is being consulted to avoid permanent damage to collections. Extreme care must be taken when handling the historical, and in some cases, irreplaceable materials issued. Library staff receive training on collections handling, and will intervene to ensure that appropriate practices are being observed. Access is subject to statutory and legal requirements, as defined under data protection, freedom of information, copyright and other relevant legislation. Records containing confidential information about staff or students, sensitive personal data about individuals and confidential business information which would ordinarily be restricted under the Freedom of Information Act are not fully open to the public until 100 years after they were created or the individual involved has died (where applicable). Access arrangements also take into consideration the need to preserve and secure archival material as part of the College’s permanent collections.
