Scope and Content

A manuscript in the hand of Dafydd Sin Sims containing a wide variety of poetry including many Christmas carols, elegies to such people as William Griffith of Tan-y-Bwlch, Jane Garnons of Rhiw Goch and William Wynn of the Wern which contain many reference to local gentry. Also contains request poetry (cerddi gofyn).

There are several references to everyday life such as the building of a crushing mill at Bryn-y-felin. There are three poems protesting against Methodism and in some cases, the genealogical information within the poetry is of great interest.
