Small collection of papers of Albert Driscoll relating to his First World War service on the Western Front, comprising his pocket diary for 1918, a copy of W. & A K. Johnston's printed 'European War Map' of 1914, a copy of 'The Soldier's Pocket Companion' edited by the Earl of Meath, 1916 and a trench map centring on Oppy, 1918

According to his diary, Albert Driscoll (fl 1918) known as Bert, was from Birmingham, his address being given as 31 Kings Road, Erdington. Other information extracted from this indicates that he was an army driver employed in the Somme area of France during 1918
